It is a semi-solid yarn dyed purple. Note: This yarn is available on a backorder basis if there is not currently enough in stock for your requirements. The current backorder turnaround time is 2-3 weeks. Please see the backorder information page for terms and information. The base yarn is 100% Corriedale sourced from the Falkland Islands. It was prepared and spun in Yorkshire and dyed in Dorset. The yarn is naturally creamy white in colour. Each 4ply/fingering 100g skein is approximately 400m in length. Although this yarn does not contain Nylon, it is suitable for socks because it is made from Corriedale which is a sturdy yet soft wool. It has been spun with a high twist to add extra strength to it. This yarn will last well compared to other synthetic-free yarns, however, I have yet to find a synthetic-free, non-superwash yarn which can match the longevity of nylon blend equivalents. You can read more about this yarn base here. This yarn is also suitable for a range of other projects, especially those that require good stitch definition. The yarn has not been superwash treated so requires gentle hand washing unless you intend for it to felt. Due to the dyeing process no two skeins are identical.
